This unique training combines an in-depth anatomical and biomechanical understanding of yoga taught within the holistic framework of the 5 Element system of Chinese Medicine and Ayurveda and underpinned by the philosophy of Classical Yoga and Tantra. At the end of the course students leave having learned essential tools and life skills to enhance their health and through which they can inspire others.

Taught in a traditional ashram style, we place a strong emphasis on interactive and experiential learning. The training encourages each student to listen deeply their own process and undertake specific practices for self-inquiry held within the group experience.

Our Style

We cover a variety of styles during the course as we work with the different Elements, so the style serves the purpose of experiencing the Element that we are specifically working. From alignment based Hatha and Vinyasa Flow to the more subtle energetic practices of Yin Yoga, Yoga Nidra and Mindfulness, students will learn different ways of practicing and teaching.

Morning classes are more dynamic and alignment based. Afternoon practices are a combination of restorative Yin Yoga and meditation.

The 5 elements yoga teacher training was an amazing experience. The team shares yoga from the heart. They challenged, inspired and guided me on so many levels. I got here with high expectations and leave happy with the backpack full of knowledge and inspiration for the journey to come. Thank you Swara Yoga School!

What are the 5 Elements and do how they relate to yoga?

The 5 Elements is an ancient philosophical tradition which facilitates a deeper understanding of Yoga through infusing your yoga practice with specific movement and intention. In the 5 Elements philosophy Earth grounds, Water flows, Fire energizes, Air lightens and Space expands.

In this Yoga Teacher Training we will use asana, pranayama, meditation and diet to bring your whole system into balance using the qualities of each element. From the static alignment based practices of Iyengar Yoga to the dynamic flowing sequences of Vinyasa and the deep stillness of Yin Yoga you will learn the value of each style of yoga according to the 5 Elements and your individual constitution.

We are a Yoga Alliance fully certified yoga teacher training school

Food as Medicine

Diet is an integral part of this training and the food menu is designed to support all the practices on the course.

Using 80% of organic ingredients and the philosophy of both Macrobiotics and Ayurveda, the food on the training will help your body first detoxify and then regain an optimum balance between flexibility and strength from within, leaving you energized and full of vitality.

Our Training

We train 6 days a week, with 1 day off a week and we work around 8-9 hours a day.

There are 4 hours of practice and 3.5h to 4 hours for lectures, discussions, teaching practice and other activities. Two nights per week we have both bhajans (devotional singing) and conscious cinema.

This is not just a yoga teacher training course it’s a deep spiritual journey. This course helped me feel my physical body in ways I never knew existed. It’s a life-changing experience, really challenging you to connect with your inner self and inner elements. Thank you all so much!

This experience was so much greater than a Teacher Training. I learned how to live my happiest, best, most efficient life and expanded my being in every aspect of my life.
I feel like a more luminous version of myself and I feel prepared to continue the journey of this life in the best way I can. This was such an impactful education and I’m grateful for all the doors it has opened for me.

Questions?

Please contact us with any questions, concerns, or other inquiry you may have. We want to hear from you!

This 5 Elements Yoga Teacher Training is not about becoming a teacher but more about finding the teacher within yourself so that you can learn, grow and develop from. It’s in the process that you can transmit some knowledge, thoughts and impressions to others along the way.
The teachers are professional, authentic, knowledgeable, honest, funny and to sum up really adorable human beings. I learned that it’s about exploring the aspects of yoga I´m interested in and if someone else wants to join me in that discovery I will gladly share what I learned. Thank You!
