Ayurvedic Liver Detox Tea

Ayurvedic Liver Detox Tea

Ingredients:

  • 1 teaspoon of crushed coriander seeds
  • 1 teaspoon of crushed cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon of crushed fennel seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric powder
  • 1 small slice of fresh ginger
  • 1 litre of water
  • Honey (optional, to taste)
  • Lemon juice (optional, to enhance flavour)

Preparation:

Prepare the Seeds -  Begin by lightly crushing the coriander, cumin, and fennel seeds. This helps release their oils and flavours, enhancing the benefits of the tea.

Boil the Ingredients - In a medium-sized saucepan, add 1 litre of water and bring it to a boil. Once boiling, add the crushed seeds, turmeric powder, and the slice of fresh ginger.

Simmer -  Reduce the heat and let the mixture simmer gently for about 10 minutes. This allows the herbs to infuse the water with their properties.

Strain -  After simmering, remove the saucepan from the heat and strain the tea into a large container, removing the seeds and ginger pieces.

Flavour and Serve - If desired, add honey to sweeten and a few drops of lemon juice to add a refreshing twist. Stir well.

Enjoy - Drink this tea warm. You can consume this detox tea 1-2 times daily, ideally in the morning or before meals, to support liver function and aid in digestion.

Benefits:

Coriander seeds are known for their anti-inflammatory properties and can help in detoxifying the liver

Cumin seeds aid in digestion and contain antioxidants that promote liver health.

Fennel seeds are great for cleansing the blood and help in reducing water retention.

Turmeric is a powerful anti-inflammatory herb that supports liver detoxification.

Ginger boosts digestion and improves the absorption and assimilation of essential nutrients in the body.

This tea is not only beneficial for liver health but also supports overall digestion and wellness. It's important to consult with a healthcare provider or an Ayurvedic practitioner before starting any new herbal regimen, especially if you have underlying health conditions or are taking other medications.

Remember is not only the tea that is beneficial, the ritual of prepping something nurturing for yourself is as important as the tea and ingredients in itself:-)
