Traditionally, sādhana refers to a regular and int Traditionally, sādhana refers to a regular and intentional practice undertaken with sincerity, discipline, and self-awareness. It is the path through which we gradually loosen habitual patterns and move towards greater clarity and freedom. For the modern practitioner, sādhana may include āsana, prāṇāyāma, meditation, self-study, and ethical reflection. But it is not limited to what happens on the mat.It is the willingness to return—to our practice, our attention, and the way we meet everyday life. Not with perfection, but with consistency.Over time, the practice does more than change what we can do. It begins to shape how we relate to ourselves, to others, and to the world around us.What does sādhana look like in your life at the moment?..

✨There is so much information available to us as p ✨There is so much information available to us as practitioners that it can be easy to confuse learning more with deepening our practice. There is always another technique to explore, another sequence, another perspective on the nervous system, anatomy or meditation. Curiosity and study are important, but more information does not necessarily mean more depth.✨At some point, practice asks something different of us: to develop the quality of our attention.✨Yoga already gives us an incredibly rich framework for doing this. We have asana, pranayama, pratyahara and dharana, all rooted in the foundations of yama and niyama. We could spend a lifetime with these practices, not because we need to keep making them more complex, but because our capacity to perceive through them can continue to become more refined.✨The same asana we have practised hundreds of times can become a place to notice how we organise effort, where the breath moves freely or becomes restricted, what sensations draw our attention, what we avoid, and how our experience changes from one day to another. Pranayama can move from following a breathing technique to developing a much subtler relationship with breath. Pratyahara invites us to notice how easily attention is pulled towards stimulation, while dharana develops our capacity to remain with something long enough for it to reveal more.✨In this sense, practice doesn’t necessarily deepen because we add more. It deepens because attention becomes more sensitive, more sustained and more discerning.✨Perhaps this is particularly relevant now, when we have access to more teachings and methods than ever before. There is enormous value in learning, but also in resisting the feeling that we constantly need something new.✨Sometimes there is enough material already. The practice is to stay with it long enough to see more....#swarayogaschool #embodimentpractice #yogapractice #8limbsofyoga #yogasadhana
Somatic Foundations for Facilitators
30-Hour Profe Somatic Foundations for Facilitators
30-Hour Professional Training
📍October 24–25 & November 28–29 (Live Online)Over the years, many facilitators reach a point where teaching becomes less about delivering a practice and more about understanding the person in front of them. You know how to guide a class, structure a session, and communicate clearly. Yet there are moments when you notice something deeper—a subtle change in breath, a protective contraction, a withdrawal, or a loss of connection—and you wonder how to meet it with greater sensitivity.
This is where somatic principles become invaluable.Drawing from contemporary somatic approaches, nervous system science, mindfulness, and embodied practice, this training explores how we can create learning environments that support awareness, regulation, and authentic experience.Rather than adding more techniques, the course helps you develop the capacity to:✨ Perceive what is happening beneath behaviour
✨ Work with the nervous system rather than against it
✨ Guide others in ways that feel safe, responsive, and groundedWhat we’ll explore:✔ How the nervous system organizes around safety and threat
✔ Recognising activation, shutdown, and regulation in real time
✔ Interoception and its role in awareness and emotional regulation
✔ Somatic principles including titration and pendulation
✔ Language that supports curiosity, choice, and embodied learning
✔ Structuring classes that encourage regulation and integration
✔ Staying connected to your own body while facilitating others
This training is designed for yoga teachers, movement educators, therapists, coaches, and facilitators who want to deepen the way they teach—not by adding more information, but by refining presence, observation, and embodied awareness.📍 Live on Zoom (recordings available)🎁 Participants receive 50% off all 1:1 Somatic Experiencing® & Yoga Therapy sessions during the training.Early Bird ends September 1st.
