🍁At the equinox, summer does not disappear overnig 🍁At the equinox, summer does not disappear overnight. There is still warmth in the afternoon, fruit ripening, and the work of gathering what has grown. At the same time, the light changes and we begin to sense what is coming to an end.🍁In the Five Elements philosophy, this movement from Fire through Earth toward Metal gives us a way to observe the transition. We move from the outward energy of summer, through a time of gathering and digesting, toward a season that can bring our attention to what matters—and to what we miss.🍁Autumn is often described as a time to “let go.” But grief does not follow the same rhythm as falling leaves. It may be connected to a person, a relationship, a place, or a version of life we thought would continue. Sometimes the practice is simply to notice what we are carrying and make room for it, without asking it to leave.🍁I’ve written more about grief, seasonal change, and a gentle practice for this transition so if you are interested Link in Bio and visit our RESOURCES page, full of seasonal articles.....

🌀Somatics has become an increasingly familiar word 🌀Somatics has become an increasingly familiar word in yoga, movement, therapy and coaching. But working somatically is not simply about adding a few nervous system techniques to what we already do.It can begin with a shift in how we pay attention.
As facilitators, we are constantly noticing things: a change in breath, a subtle contraction, someone becoming quieter, a shift in posture or attention. And very quickly, observation can become interpretation.
They’re anxious.
They’re resistant.
They’ve disconnected.
They need to relax.A somatic approach invites us to stay a little longer with what is actually happening before deciding what it means.
This changes the way we facilitate. It influences our language, our pacing, the choices we offer and how much space we leave for another person to recognise their own experience.
It also asks us to become more aware of ourselves. Before techniques, scripts or sequencing, we are part of the relational field too. Our presence, pace and capacity to listen all shape the space we create. These are some of the ideas I explore in my new free guide:
🌀Applied Somatics: A Guide for Yoga Teachers & Facilitators🌀Inside, I explore interoception, nervous system capacity, co-regulation, attunement and rhythm, the relational field, mindfulness and practical ways of bringing somatic principles into your work and day-today.
It’s designed for yoga and movement teachers, therapists, coaches and facilitators who are curious about bringing a more embodied, nervous system-aware approach into the way they work with others.📖The guide is free to download through the link in my bio.
I hope it gives you something useful to explore in your own practice and work.🙏🏼 @miss_sofia_ji ..#swarayogaschool #somatics #embodiedfacilitation #somaticeducation #embodimentpractice
Traditionally, sādhana refers to a regular and int Traditionally, sādhana refers to a regular and intentional practice undertaken with sincerity, discipline, and self-awareness. It is the path through which we gradually loosen habitual patterns and move towards greater clarity and freedom. For the modern practitioner, sādhana may include āsana, prāṇāyāma, meditation, self-study, and ethical reflection. But it is not limited to what happens on the mat.It is the willingness to return—to our practice, our attention, and the way we meet everyday life. Not with perfection, but with consistency.Over time, the practice does more than change what we can do. It begins to shape how we relate to ourselves, to others, and to the world around us.What does sādhana look like in your life at the moment?..
