Winter to Spring: Setting Intentions
Winter to Spring: Setting Intentions
Intention for the Season
Winter encouraged us to turn inward, to rest and restore. Now, as the world around us begins to awaken, we may feel the pull to move, to create, to set new intentions. But just like nature, our emergence doesn’t have to be rushed. Just as a seed first swells beneath the soil before it sprouts, we can honour this phase of slow awakening, listening to what our bodies and minds need in this in-between space. This transition is a beautiful time for reflection, a powerful time to reflect on where we’ve been and where we’re headed.
Here are some reflective questions to guide you as you step into this new cycle with mindfulness and intention:
What am I ready to release from winter?
Winter is often a season of stillness, introspection, and rest. While this period of quiet can be deeply nourishing, it can also bring stagnation, lingering emotions, or habits that no longer align with our evolving selves. As spring arrives, consider what you’re ready to let go of.
- Are there thought patterns, fears, or self-doubts that feel heavy?
- Have you been holding onto stress, relationships, or routines that no longer support your growth?
- What emotional or physical clutter can you clear out to make space for something new?
Releasing doesn’t mean forgetting—it means acknowledging, honouring, and gently setting down what you no longer need.
What seeds do I want to plant for spring?
Just as nature begins to sprout new life, spring is the perfect time to plant the seeds of your own dreams and aspirations. These seeds might be personal, creative, or professional goals that you wish to nurture in the coming months.
- What do you want to cultivate more of in your life?
- What projects, habits, or experiences excite you?
- How can you take small, intentional steps toward growth?
Remember, seeds take time to grow. Be patient and trust the process. The simple act of setting an intention is a powerful way to invite positive change.
How can I reemerge with mindfulness and intention?
Spring is a season of reawakening. Just as the earth slowly warms and blossoms, we, too, can step forward with renewed energy and presence. Rather than rushing into action, consider how you want to move through this season with purpose.
- How can you bring more mindfulness into your daily routines?
- What practices help you stay grounded and aligned with your intentions?
- How can you embrace change with grace, allowing yourself to bloom at your own pace?
The beauty of this season is that there is no rush. Nature unfolds in perfect time, and so do you.
As you welcome this season of change, give yourself permission to embrace the process. Celebrate the small moments of growth, honour the lessons of the past, and step into spring with an open heart.
